Oh weh, nach Singapur ist es ja wirklich noch ein ganzes Stück. Ich konnte mir diese langen Flugzeiten nie so wirklich vorstellen.

Und ist es nu eigentlich Melbourne wie in 'burn' oder so ähnlich wie 'born' (nur mit mehr u)? Die Eastbourner haben in England alle gelyncht, die East'burn' sagten... Seitdem überlege ich bei Melbourne immer hin und her, Dialekt und so.

Ach, im Flugzeug kann man Kinofilme anschauen und schlechte Spiele spielen. (Das Schach ist z.B. noch viel schlechter als das Nvidia-Chess-Teil und das war schon grottig. ^.^) Der Aufenthalt in Ho Chi Minh City (manchen besser bekannt als Saigon) war dagegen ätzend. Zum einen viel zu lange, zum anderen gibt es dort nicht wirklich etwas zu tun oder zu sehen.
Ich würde sagen, die Australier tendieren zu einem -börn, während der gehobene Engländer -born sagen dürfte. Ich persönlich tendiere eher zur "verschluckten" Variante -b'rn. wink

Ich hab von den Flugzeug-Spielen eigentlich nur Link to the Past (Singapore Airlines, SNES-Emu) in guter Erinnerung. Dazu schaue ich meist japanische Filme, die es hier eher nicht oder spät zu sehen geben wird. Gut, Schach kann und will ich nicht beurteilen. Zur Belustigung taugen die meisten interaktiven Reiseführer zu Deutschland in Flugzeugen.

Ho Chi Minh City find ich persönlich klasse. Die Nudelsuppen sind super und sehr günstig. Die Hotels 1A.  Die Motorradfahrer irre ^.^ . Hübsch angelegt. Und die Märkte, besonders in den "Kolonialvierteln" sind sehenswert. Aber ja, der Flughafen ist im Vergleich zu vielen asiatischen Städten eher unspektakulär. Jedoch hast du vermutlich noch nicht Manila International (Ninoy Aquino) gesehen - furchtbar. Total chaotisch, kaum organisiert, wenn die Fluggesellschaften es nicht selbst in die Hand nehmen, und viel zu nachsichtig.

(achja: englisches burn - brennen - und englisches born - geboren - natürlich - damit keine Missverständnisse aufkommen)

Zur Stadt selbst kann ich ja nicht viel sagen, weil ich nur im Transfer-Bereich im Flughafen herumhängen durfte.

(Das mit dem englischen burn/born hatte ich schon so verstanden. Ich wollte es nur eher lautmalerisch beantworten, bevor wieder unterschiedliche Aussprachen von 'burn' Schwierigkeiten machen.)
